Three third-year RGU students – Craig Melville, Aaron Small and James Castrence – join us on their placement year. RGU is unique among accounting and finance courses in Scotland, giving students the opportunity to work within a professional accountancy firm such as Hall Morrice allowing the under graduates to put their academic knowledge into practice, learning professional skills and values.
A record six CA students will also join the firm – Sarah Hamilton, Faye Gill and Matthew Law, along with former placement students, returning to us to embark on their CA training journey – Chloe Milton, Mark Mitchell and Ellie Shand.
The Business Advisory Team has also been strengthened by new recruit Amanda Dunbar who joined in July this year.
Des Petrie, partner, says, “We have been working in recent years to redefine our team structure and position ourselves for continued business growth. Recruiting the best of emerging talent is a key part of this strategy.
“At Hall Morrice we have always had an emphasis on training and professional development and this is demonstrated by the number of our young CAs who have been recognised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland (ICAS).
“In recent years, five of our CAs have been recognised on the ICAS Top 100 Young CAs list. We are a mid-tier firm with a collegiate team; we invest heavily in developing our people and we go beyond what other firms of comparable size offer. The time, energy and effort we place on career development pays dividends for us as a firm, for our clients and also for each individual on our team.”
